Reclaimed oyster shells give oyster larvae an ideal spot to settle and grow into reefs. It was a pleasure to provide 5,000 bags of oyster shell, constructed with the help of hundreds of volunteers, to the Jamaica Bay Rockaway Parks Conservancy to help kickstart the process of protecting our shorelines.
