2025 Research Associate Technician Internship

The Billion Oyster Project summer Research Associate Technician Internship program is an exciting way for young adults who have completed high school to explore careers in marine, environmental education and engagement, and non-profit-related fields. Apply now to join the 2025 cohort!
The Research Associate Technician interns will provide support to all the departments of Billion Oyster Project through a specific programmatic focus. See below for the programmatic focuses offered. Interns will also have the opportunity to engage with other departments outside of their focus to gain an understanding of an environmental non-profit. The Research Associate Technician will also be responsible for producing a research project* and presenting said project to Billion Oyster Project staff at the end of the season. As a Research Associate Technician intern, you will fully integrate into the organization, attending and reporting at staff-wide meetings and functions. All Research Associate Technicians will have on-site focus supervisors. The Public Outreach Program Manager manages the Research Associate Technician Program with oversight from the Director of Public Impact.

Shell Recycling Senior Coordinator
Billion Oyster Project is seeking a Shell Recycling Senior Coordinator — a crucial role in managing the logistics and operations of our Shell Recycling Program, which collects shells from local restaurants to support oyster reef restoration. Responsibilities include coordinating shell collections, expanding the program to new restaurants, maintaining relationships with existing partners, and ensuring efficient shell delivery to curing sites. This role requires strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive attitude to handle operational challenges and engage restaurant partners. We seek an individual with a background in operations, logistics, and customer service. The ideal candidate is reliable, organized, and flexible, with excellent relationship management and public speaking skills. Billion Oyster Project is seeking a Communications Consultant who will be responsible for a four-month cover for our Communications team, with a focus on planning and producing written/digital content in support of the Billion Oyster Party, Climate Week, and annual winter fundraising appeal, as well as supporting BOP’s program department in promoting upcoming programming events. We are seeking a personable and energetic communications professional who enjoys producing content for a fast-growing environment/education nonprofit, keeping up with industry trends and breaking news, and embraces a fast-paced environment with overlapping responsibilities.
