Joaquin Cleaning Oysters

Daily, students at The Harbor School work hand-in-hand with the Billion Oyster Project. Down at the floating dock on Monday, 3/21, 3 students were doing their part by cleaning the oysters. We asked a student named Joaquin Santiago about what they were doing and he told us; “Right now we’re keeping the oysters clean so that they can filter the water better. What good are the oysters to clean if they’re not clean themselves?”.

Keeping students involved with the oysters is essential to the Billion Oyster Project, just as much as keeping them clean. These students and their work are the small steps bringing us closer to one billion oysters.
