On October 11th, 5:30-8:30pm, the Billion Oyster Project will throw the #HarborUp party at Island Oyster on Governors Island to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the New York Harbor School.

While overlooking the Manhattan Skyline, guests will enjoy unlimited oysters, light bites from restaurant partners of the school’s primary program partner, Billion Oyster Project, and an open bar with beer from Blue Point Brewing Company featuring their new Good Reef Ale which benefits the Billion Oyster Project’s community oyster reefs. Crave Fishbar, Blue Fin, Zadie’s Oyster Bar, Midnights, and Claw Daddy’s will serve light bites.

Tickets and party packs are available here.

Proceeds from the event will support the students at the New York Harbor School and their work in one of seven career and technical education (CTE) programs of study: Aquaculture, Marine Biology and Research, Marine Systems Technology, Marine Policy and Advocacy, Ocean Engineering, Professional Diving, and Vessel Operations. Through this course work students gain access to industry certification in marine science or technology, and the program includes a continuum of work-based learning experiences that bring classroom learning into a real-world, work-related context.
