JUNE 10TH, 10AM- 2:30PM
Come join us on Governors Island as we showcase the outstanding restoration science work of BOP students!

The Annual Billion Oyster Project Research Symposium will bring together a diverse community of schools, scientists, and partner organizations from across New York Harbor for a day of networking, co-learning, and celebration.  The goals for the day are to open up new educational and career opportunities for NYC students and advance the collective knowledge we need to restore the Harbor and our City’s relationship to it. We’d love for you to be a part of it!

The day will include:

  • A “poster walk” of BOP student and scientist research projects
  • Educational walking tours of BOP facilities and Governors Island
  • A technical scavenger hunt for students
  • Catered lunch
  • Oyster shucking lessons
  • A keynote address
  • A live performance of the acclaimed oyster musical “Salty Folk”

If you’re a participating BOP teacher and you have students ready to present research, click here to reserve your research table(s). We encourage all active BOP schools, citizen scientists, and partner organizations to present their research. Each research team will be provided its own table. First year, or newly participating schools are also welcome to attend as audience members. Click here to sign up as an attendee only.

If you’re a scientist or STEM professional and you’d like to share your research in an interactive way with a group of highly motivated, knowledgeable young citizen scientists we’d especially love to have you sign up for a presentation table at our poster walk.  Click here to reserve your spot or sign up for a presentation table.  We’ll see you June 10th on Governors Island!
